Artist Bio
Rita Squitiere is a Costume Designer & Wardrobe Stylist for film, television, commercial, print, theatre, and dance. She received her Bachelor of Science from Philadelphia University in Fashion Design in 2004, then her Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design from Temple University in 2010. Rita has over 20 years of experience working in the industry in all aspects of costume design and garment production. Her focus on aiding a story through costume design is evident in her attention to detail and her collaborative nature. She enjoys depicting different time periods in costume history, as well as modern day stories with rich complex characters. Rita fluidly adapts to each production’s needs as she steadily works in all mediums with budgets small to large.
Recent film costume design work includes “The Golden Voice” available on Amazon Prime, starring Nick Nolte. “The Virtuoso” distributed by Lionsgate starring Anthony Hopkins, Anson Mount, and Abbie Cornish. “The Nomads” starring Tika Sumpter and Tate Donovan. Also, the CNN Documentary “Pope: The Most Powerful Man in History” which takes a look at 2000 years of papal history through stylized historical recreations.
Recent commercial work includes styling for clients such as Gerber, General Mills, Campbells, Mountain Dew, Dietz & Watson, Hershey Park, Zaxby's and many more.
Rita has also worked to support other artists by lending her expert skills of sourcing and shopping as well as wardrobe supervising. Recent shopping credits include “Task” & “Mare of Easttown” for HBO and Costume Designer Meghan Kasperlik and “Dope Thief” for Apple TV and Costume Designer Jenny Gerring.
